Whilst changing my front brakes pads this weekend I noticed that neither of my front rotors freely rotate if spun by hand (pads removed), and the righthand side gives much more resistance than the left. Is this resistance normal or is this imminent sign of bearing failure? I don't recall them being so tight before.
Bearings are shot, they should revolve freely. Remove the rotors also and see how they spin, if they are still notchy and hard to spin, they will need to be replaced. My race car is undergoing this repair now.
Do you have a 4S by chance? I sometimes when playing with the front suspension forget about the axle connected to the rotor causing drag. In a brief panic I start to think something is wrong, then I come back to reality.
If this is not the case and you do not have AWD, then Greg is probably correct. Remove calipers or just remove brake pads and spin the rotors. They should rotate freely. If not, yet another project that you will have the honor of performing.
