Default 993 Key Fob Keyless Entry Question

Hello, I purchased a 1995 911 C2 NB and it did not come with any remote key fob. I do have the alarm light on the door and I am wondering if I can purchase the remote from Pelican Parts. However, I am not sure that this car even has keyless entry. Any input would be appreciated....

Hi Fly Guy,
If it has a keyless entry system I would think when you opened the door and you turned the key in the ignition the immobilizer would still be active and your car would simply not start.

If it doesn't have it adding most any generic aftermarket alarm/keyless entry is very simple. In fact, if you are not interested in implementing the alarm feature it just involves three wires:
One to any constant live circuit to the battery and two wires to the rocker switch in the center console.

Also the stick in your owners manual and the duplicate stuck to the bottom of your front lid would list:
Option numbers 0529 and or 0530 Both Immobilizer options w/remote fob and your car would have a window sticker as well.
Also 537 is for a factory alarm system however I am unsure as to if this option came with remote entry.

I have the same year 1995 and they don't come with remote opening. ( I think it started with the 1996 and up )
however I did purchase from bergvillfx.com a 993 keyless entry system . it is going to be install next week , when my 993 is out from winter storage.
enjoy your new purchase. ( 993)

Also, the 95's don't have an immobilizer but they do have electronic locks which are activated by the center console switch. You should be fine with something like the Bergvilfx mentioned above. He is also a member here and can answer any questions for you, His user name is ToreB.

Same here. I thought my 1995 C2 would come with a remote but it does not. Just a standard key with a button that has a light. I think I prefer no remote (less thing to go wrong on an old car like this). But maybe I will change my mind in the future. Keep us updated if you add keyless entry.

I added Tore's keyless entry to my 95 C2 a couple weeks ago. Neat setup, and not that hard to install. Hardest part was getting the seat bolts off to get to the module. I recommend it.

Wonderful, thanks a lot everybody - I so much appreciate it. I’m going to order that module tonight and I’ll post an update once I get it. You guys are the best, Grazie Grazie!

+1

Hardest part of the job was a stripped seatbelt bolt. ToreB’s keyless entry is a very nice kit.
