Touf,
Great Targa! Welcome to the world of P-Targa! Nice wing on it too... PM me and I'll send you the original Targa postcards from Porsche. It's no longer in print and I just pick some up at an auction... kinda collector's item.

Wow awesome community
I bought the car at a dealer in SD called Lusti Motors.
The car came with the following MODS:
Fac Aerokit/19" wheels/Non Adjustable LOwered suspension
Some stainless steel exhaust/Yellow Painted Calipers
CArbon fiber steering wheel/Titanium colored face gauges
Targa door sills/speed yellow painted center console.
CArbon fiber shifter know and handbrake lever.
Mileage 12 K and all the maintenance records 1 previous owner in TX
Dealer price 55K I paid 49.5K
The original sticker shows 82K for it brand new in 1997. He had all the mods done by porsche and I can't believe how expensive thy are. (it cost 2k to paint the calipers YLW)
My story:
I bought my first 993last July. Silver 95 cab with 30K Mi. I paid 35K I installed a PSS9 and a roll bar to track the car.
In October I had to move to Montreal for a few mnths for business.
I shipped the car to MTRL and the car got stolen after I had been in that damn city for 5 days!
My insurance first didn't want to pay for the claim. They had a long investigation because it sounded fishy to them that I would take my car up there for just a few months. I tried explaining that it was my first Porsche and that I really wanted to drive it around.
Finally after 3 months of negociations we settled for a pretty good price.
Geico offered me 44.5K. That was 9k over what I paid. Well worth the wait!!
I started looking for an other 993 and I was really looking for a C4S.
Eventually I ran across this Targa in the autotrader. SInce the dealer was in SD I ran there to look at it before it got sold.
2 days later I owned the car.
Sorry for the long post but after my first 993 was stolen It was long and agonizing. I was on this forum everyday looking at people enjoying their beautiful cars and going on WE drives and DE events.
I am really looking forward to meet some of the SD area and Socal 993 owners from this thread.
I am currently in China on a business trip and will be back to SD on 4/5.

Sorry 1 more post.
I am looking to lighten the car to get a better power/weight ratio. I own a 91MIata to which I put in a 1.8L engine and installed a custom Turbo I built. I have about 270 HP at the wheels. THe car kicks the $%$^ out of any 993 out there except the TT and I am looking fwd to catch up ;-) my girlie car.
I plan on removing the rear seats (Can somone point me to where I can get the Rear Seat Delete option)
I plan on putting 2 Sparco EVO2's in the front. I have 1 in my miata and love it.
I also love the GT3 seats but they are a bit too expensive. Any other recommendations for seats?
Also I would like to increase the HP. After looking at this forum it seems that the only way to gain major power from thin engine is either to increase it to 3.8L or install a TPC supercharger.
I would like to Chip the car. Any recommendations? Is it ok to chip if the car has the immobilizer?
Also I leave in SD and the smog ***** are all over the place. I have so much trouble when I smog my Turbocharged miata every 2 years.
Thank you.

Touf,
Great write-ups. Don't apologize for long posts....the info is great and we all learn something form reading what others experiences are!
Your car is beautiful and it is nice to see all of the mods that were ordered with it and done to it later.
Enjoy..and lock this one up!
Cheers

Wow, quite a Hot car.
Since ur last car was stolen, are u watching this car more carefully?
Also as far as ur questions u should search a bit.
Theer are quite a few threads.
Have fun.
BTW: How do u manage not to get pulled over?
The huge wing and the speed yellow make it hard to be incognito!
Does anyone know what it takes to become a member of the 1199 CHP foundation?

Hi, I live in LA.
I oiwn a 97 Targa Blk on Blk.
Ur car loolks great.
As far as the CHP 1199 foundation, the ;last I heard it cost about 1500 as a donation.
I am not sure if it is worth it.
\Maybe other members have a made a "donation" and have been warned by CHP rather than Pulled over.
Anone has a 1199 badge and license plate frame?
