My speaker had a small 1/4 inch crack and I pushed it from behind and it snapped flush into place….can’t see any damage now after being there for 20 years…….

I made a small cut in the plastic and sealed back up with clear packing tape….seems fine after 2 years…..

seals were the same both sides I am pretty sure…

It should still be sticky. Hitting it with a heat gun or hair dryer a bit after you re-apply it helps give it a good bond and allows you to smooth it down nicely.

The black plastic “lock cover” and “actuator cover” are proving to be a challenge to re-install after finally getting them out of the way. What do these actually do (aside from the obvious- cover the lock and actuator)? Contemplating just leaving them out…. thoughts?
