Default Pics from California Speedway....

A few pics from California Speedway..

Kind of a funny little story. A few buddies and myself were milling around the paddock and saw this red RS 'look' 993.. We saw what looked to be a nice couple just sitting around enjoying the event and the nice weather (obviously waiting fof his next session)..

Anyhow, we walk up and ask 'excuse me, are those real RS wheels"?

The guy answered "yes, in fact its a real RS" as in the whole car...

WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!

In all the Porsche events, car shows, PCA tours of personal car collections etc., I have NEVER seen a real 993 RS in the flesh! I felt honored to finally see one in person..

Very nice couple who owned it as well!!

When asked about its performance, the owner said "all the hype you read about the 993 RS is true" "awesome performing car"..

Here are a few pics

Didn't the RS have a 3-spoke steering wheel?

That looks to be the 'comfort edition". Airbags and sports seats....

However he does have an RSCS wing...RS's are a thing of beauty and the right color

Last year at the TWS race there was a 993 GT something wild and on the back it said : "Cash Injected"
I was laughing in my helmet and thought how true!!!

Thanks Chris for the great pics

We asked the owner about getting these cars federalized etc. He said his particular model RS had airbags already. He bought this car out of Texas. I seem to remember a guy in Texas who had, I think, two RS 993's for sale.

Boy would I love one of them!

No rides for me as this was a DE and I am not an instructor. I was satisfied just to have a close look at it...

I've seen the twin of this one at Don Rosen's during a PCA meet last year. The owner of the Speed Yellow RS bought it from a guy in Texas who had it federalized. I believe the one he has is the non-comfort version (wouldn't a "comfort" version by oxymoronic?). The thin glass was definitely the tell-tale sign, since most of the other cosmetic items can be relatively easily installed.

I did actually see it on the track in my session and thought, Wow, that could not be a real RS could it? It did not seem that quick, but then, I got stuck in traffic and could not really find out. That would have been really fun!

The owner was saying that its worth about 330 HP. I thought it should have a bit more than that. Well, looks like 600, anyway.
