Need advice on best digital camera for in-car videos
Ran my 993TT in the Silver State Classic a few weeks back and my in-car video basically sucked. The Sony digital camera that I used SUPPOSEDLY had the best image stabilizer technology around, but it vibrated way too much. Also once you go over about 140 mph it starts to get a distorted picture (kind of like a carnival funhouse). So does anybody have good advice based upon experience as to which digital cameras do best for in-car videos. Of utmost importance to me is minimizing vibration, and maintaining picture quality at high speeds since most of the race is run at 150 mph plus. Thanks in advance.

Call Speedcom at 904.789.8122 ask for Toto. They do race car systems. You could also check out: Lipstick Camera I know some guys using this in a race car with good results.

Robb,
First eliminate the vibrations in your mount, then consider a better camcorder! I am guessing my Ruf at 200 + mph has more chassis/road noise than most cars however my in car video taken with my Canon GL1 is absolutely superb!Samples video of 210 ride are available @ Battle Mountain for your viewing pleasure.
