Talking OT: Teen defensive driving course

Some of you may remember that I signed Ryan (my 16-year old) for Danny McKeever's Teen Defensive Driving course at Willow Springs today (3/27). LeeR, a fellow Rennlister also came and brought his son Jordan. I took a few pictures, which I will post one-at-a-time. Lee, feel free to add your pictures to this thread.

Summary: a fun course that taught the kids something about accident avoidance and vehicle dynamics. A really good deal. Ryan now wants to start racing go-karts. Darn.

A group shot of all the kids (14 total) and some of the instructors:

You don't see too many Shelby Series 1s. Also in the DE event. It lasted the entire day!

Steve,
Swirl marks on the neglected Cobra? How could you? There wouldn't be any car favoritism around your place would there? I took one of those classes several years ago and, while generally basic compared to what I know now, it was fun to learn basic vehicle dynamics.

Swirl marks? That poor Cobra now gets parked OUTSIDE! What can I say... I just can't get that third garage bay cleaned out enough to it parked inside.

The course was definitely worth the time and reasonable cost ($350). I highly recommend it for all beginning drivers.

I agree with Steve that this was a good course for teens to get used to car control, including swirving to avoid something, hard braking, etc. Here's a photo of my son Jordan in his A4 doing one of the exercises. I liked the SBD sticker on a Mini. Where can I get that?
