Unfortunately I'm unable to comment on either as the car came with the Sportsters from the previous owner after he swapped stock seats to Pole Positions and then Pole Positions for Sportsters.

I'm going to guess that they do sit lower than stock. I added some 1/2" spacers, which also helped a tad with the tub issue. Actually, I would say the issue with the width of them is worse on the tunnel side now that I have the Cantrell Racing slim adjuster *****. The **** no longer hits the tub but I feel like the seat doesn't quite go into the very last position (not that I want it there anyway). That said, I have no idea what the relative position difference is between the Recaro rails and the stock rails.

Also, for anyone's benefit that is reading this. The very first Sporsters had seatback adjustment ***** on both sides. The newer versions only have one side per seat. If you get the Cantrell Racing slim *****, their site says you need two per seat. Not entirely accurate. I only needed one pair to do both seats.

Same here. Only had outside adjustment ***** and needed just 2.

For those with Recaros in their 993, which models if any give the most headroom? Mount the lowest? Any tall guys running them that can chime in?

I definitely be interested in hearing how the sportster is compared to stock seats in terms of height and headroom.

Have you looked at Carbone.pl ?

I get updates from their facebook feed and their coachwork looks really nice and reasonable for custom seat covers. I have a set of the houndstooth carpets and very high quality.

I'd say you sit a tad bit lower. That seems to be a function of the bottom cushion thickness of the sportsters vs the stock seats. Headroom is not an issue. However, you do lose some rearward seat travel due to contact with the tub on the outboard side of each seat. I don't know exactly how much you lose. If you have really long legs, a different seat choice may be better for you. If you had your stock seats all the way back, this would likely be the case. Fortunately, I'm built like an ape and am all torso. Headroom was important to me while legroom is not an issue.

Car-Bone has them for a little less. Gbos did you get your PP Abes from Gert? I have the same seats. Love them!

For those of you who have installed Sportsters CS in your 993, do you mind sharing what mount you used for the seats to fit them in? Does something need to be made custom ?

I just ordered a pair online, they told me they just use the universal recaro mount and "adapt" them to the car they are going into. I was going to attempt to DIY install them since I've done a few sets of seats, but I always have built adapters for them and these sound like there may be some customization needed for the clearance.

All you need are the manual sliders with the pull bar of your choice. You do not need the tabbed sliders, they'll only interfere unless cut off. Sliders bolt right into the bottom of the seats and then bolt right to the stock locations. Nothing else is needed.

My Pole Positions are in Might have to go with a DAS Rollbar and Schroth Harnesses.

Do you know the part# for the manual sliders to mount the sportsters?

You just need their universal non-tabbed sliders. I used these:

https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-3...recaro/?pdk=AQ

Obviously they are drilled for the seat bottoms already and the holes align perfectly to the stock locations in the tub. Reuse original seat bolts. I ran 4 bolts, you can drill for 6 if you'd like.

Almost like they were designed for 911s...

And if you really want to go nuts and get the seat as low as possible and still have the seatbelt move with the seat you can (at your own risk of course) do this:

I would not do this with runners that are any thinner than stock.

I talked to multiple shops that do the CS installs and they all said that they regularly install the seat belt receptacles like you have above. Directly into the seat side. That is how mine are done. Been over a year with no issues.
