The hood sticker on my 1997 arctic silver 993 also reads L92U.

Mine also says "L92U". By the way, Viken, just to update you from a previous thread, my car was in fact produced 12/96.

No, 92E is Polar silver. Keep the 92T.

Isn't there two different paints: water based and non-water based paints (in same colors)?
Maybe those two different codes stand for that?

Yes, that is what I have suspected. These codes are in the workshop manual which I cannot access until the weekend.

I don't think so, I just looked my workshop manuals couple of days ago and I think it listed non-water based colors after that too.
I can check it tonight.

No help from my service manuals,

they only cover years 94-96.

-96 Doesn't have Arctic Silver listed there...

However, there are both water & non-water based colors listed (also year -96).

Polar Silver (non-water) is 92E
Polar Silver (water) is 92M

I think the difference b/ween your codes too are based on water or non-water paint.

I'm guessing touch-up is non-water, but that's just a guess.

I can't check it now (car is home), perhaps someone else can check this?

If not, I'll check it tonight.

No one bothered...

OK Silver,

I was able to take a look yesterday, so here it is.

Both stickers are the same, mine are:
L 80K (non-water btw!) and 80K 9 3 (I don't know what the 9 3 means etc. but main numbers & letter are the same).

No problem Silver

I'm waiting for the info on removing the seat back now...

Although maybe not, since I think I'll be selling my sport seats (me wants those GT3 seats! <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" /> )
