I am looking at another 993 and am wondering if the mileage shown on the odometer can be verified by looking in the car's central computer. In other words, does the car store the mileage? I know the dmv reports generally show the car's mileage from year to year, I am just wondering it the 993 has this feature like the newer models? Thanks Glenn

It doesn't store the mileage, but it does keep track of running engine hours (see https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...l#post15973572 for example)

Running hours is a good proxy.
Also,
-- The condition of the upholstery, the leather door side bolster on the driver seat will show significant wear in miles excess of 80K +/-
--Condition of the leather on the shift ****, if visibly worn, indicates a lot of miles;
--The leather on the steering wheel is very shiny indicates advanced miles;
--The condition of the carpet on the ridge to the left of the floor peddles, where a dead peddle goes, the carpet will be worn through at 70K+/- miles of use.
--Also if reupholstered or recarpeted is a give away of a high miles car.
--Has a new clutch 70K miles+
Just some thoughts from anecdotal observation others may disagree.
