Default This a “real” UT 1/18th

Greetings all...couldn’t find the old UT thread that I was looking for. Anyway, over the last 10 years, I have acquired every 993 variant of interest to me...from UT. Recently on EBay, a GT2 version that I have never seen before from UT, was shown new in the box. Everything about it looked authentic. Only close up pictures of the right side were shown, wheel “bubbling” as is somewhat common was shown on that side. I asked the seller in Japan, for pictures of the left side. The model sold...asking was over $200.

I have seen other manufacturers models of this GT2, in smaller scale....but never UT. This version shared similar elements with #90 CARGLASS GT2, such as black lower front splitter...and a black GT2 plate under the top banana wing.

Was this “the 0123”, a true UT unicorn?

Joe - I think this is a 'fantasy' UT model and not an actual release from them. You could buy that decal set and apply them to a regular white GT2 - its quite popular in Japan to modify scale models.

UT’s pale in comparison to the ridiculous number of Hot Wheel’s I have..well that and the tinplate 993’s.

Just one wall pictured below...

Yes there are a series of 1/18 and 1/43 (and 1/12, 1/18, 1/24, 1/64 Slot Car/RC Car) decal sets floating around on eBay.

and there is this guy (Pattos Palace in AU): http://www.pattosplace.com/decals/Pr...au-LM97-24.JPG
Who makes custom decals targeting the SlotCar/RC world, but can scale to fit die cast. I have made a few purchases from him (water based and adhesive vinyl), takes time to deliver, but he will deliver and has been open to custom designs. He has a specialized print/ink/"paper".

From one 993 crackhead, I see your addiction and I raise (a glass to you)...

Moved well beyond standard UT/Minchamps/GT Spirit/Spark liveries.

very nice...as you mention “crackhead”, .thinking that “crack” would be both cheaper AND more socially acceptable than this.

WOW!!!

FWIW, I've got a UT GT2 in good shape but without a box. Is this a good place to ask if anyone is interested?
