Same here. I didn't want any silver parts in my interior. Took mine apart, powdercoated the pieces and filled the lettering in white. Also upset some people, I'm sure.

In hindsight, I plan to redo the shift pattern in satin black to provide some contrast against the mini-wrinkle black. Will be making a run to the powdercoater soon enough.
