Default 993 Front/Rear Bumper Covers

I have checked out Gert's website and like the Euro Turbo Style Front and Rear bumper covers (for the 993 narrow body) which delete the bumperettes. Has anyone found another source for these factory parts which may be cheaper, or is this the best choice? Thank you.

I bought mine from Gert a couple years ago when the exchange rate was a hell of a lot better. At the time he was by far the best source.

Do you recall about how long it took to install them on your car (front/rear total time)? Is it a lot of work to get them to line up just right in order to get even gaps all around? Thanks.

You could also consider buying them used for a P-car salvage yard. I'm assuming the fronts are aplenty since most 993s probably lose it with their back-ends in the wall!

Henry - you can keep your old rear bumper and just have the bumperettes removed and the holes filled....that will save you a couple hundred dollars. do a search...you'll find plenty of posts on this and a reference to a DIY on p-car.com

There is also a front on sale on ebay as well. Don't know anything about quality. Plus there is a place called SSF or something in south san francisco that has them.

It took days to get mine from Gert and three days in the shop to prep, paint and fit.

Henry,

David is correct about the rear bumper cover. WIth the bumperettes removed, holes filled and painted, you have a TT Euro rear bumper. This work is easy to do and can be done on the car easily. Probably $500 range for this work.

The TT front bumper cover is a straight forward DIY if you want to buy the cover, have it painted and install it yourself. There are some tricks and tips you'll need if you DIY. If you have a shop do the whole job, make sure they have done this conversion before.

Email me if you want to discuss. Just did this two months ago.....
