How often to run fuel additives like techron
I use chevron gas for my car 99% of the time, and have used the techron additive in the past. I don't remember what their recomended useage interval is (most seem to be 3-5k miles). What kind of intervals do most of you use for deposit cleaning additives like techron? To be honest, I have never noticed any differenc after using in any of the 911's I've had (perhaps high rpm useage keeps things hot, and helps to eliminate carbon buildup?, or maybe the chevron 93 has enough techron in it to keep it clean?) I do notice a difference when I put it in my daily car (which is less frequent, and it never sees high rpm). What do you think?
Thanks,
David

I think everyone will agree that the best intervals for the Techron is prior to oil changes. In my case, I do it every 5k to 7.5k miles. I run a bottle and drive around for a while. I then run another bottle. After both tanks of gas, I fill up again, run that tank through, then get the oil changed. Does it make a difference? I think so.

I use Amoco Gold Gasoline (93 Octance) and put in 20 oz. of Chevron Techron every 1,000 miles, with an additional 12 oz. every 10,000 miles (Oil, Mobil 1, and filters changed every 5,000 miles). Car runs like a dream.

I use about 5K-7K miles. Fill the 20 oz before fully refueling a 1/4 tank, and about 500 miles before next oil change.
I feel the value is to dissolve the carbon buildup on the valves. Most named premium gasoline have good additives to keep injectors fairly clean, but buildup on the valves can occur, in my opinion.
Should try to use it in stop and go driving since it must soak into the deposits to dislodge them.
