Post Carpet glue

I need to reinstall both rear footwell carpet pads. The original glue appears to be a white translucent silicone based glue that was applied w/ a caulk gun. This stuff does not completely harden and remains quite sticky. My upholsterer said it was a German product but does not know who makes it and how to get it. Anyone know anything about it or a good alternative.

May I suggeast that you call John Paterek of Paterek Brothers Inc. who can give you a suggestion for glue that is better than the original -- 973-635-5924 (and, by the way, his brother, Ray, is one of the finest Porsche upholsterers in the world).
