Talking Weighed my car!! Finally!!

Hey guys,
After all the weight reduction work I got her on a scale today.

2650 with 3/4 tank of gas. WOOHOO!!!
Can't believe she is so light even after the widebody conversion.

Now I gotta get back to work and finish up the rest of her diet like the sunroof, rear deck, passenger wiper, etc..........

I am impressed. BTW, this is my first post on Rennlist. My Euro 993 RS weighs 1238 kgs (2723.5 lbs) and it is absolutely naked but stock. No AC, radio, no nothing!

I have the Komfort version and I have carpets (small). Have an after market full Heigo cage and Sabelt FIA certified 6 point harness. Often needed too :-)

Princeton - That's a significant loss. Nice job.

Monique - Welcome!

Do you have any pics of your car? We Americans don't often get to see a real 993 RS, especially one with a cage.

Princeton,

2650#...that's really admirable work. I had my car recently weighed and it came in at 2820# with 1/2 tank gas w/DAS roll bar. I know all the hard work it took me to get to 2820#, I can't even imagine all the small details to get to your weight. And you still have an AC compressor and condensor, no?

Monique,

Would love to see pics of your RS. I'm trying to build a RS spec, but I bet it's nowhere near as nice as your's.

Princeton, that is an awesome reduction in weight. I know others asked, but if you can list your weight reduction areas/items that would be great!

Well done!

My race car is at 2825, with a full roll cage, 3/4 tank of gas and a sunroof that still works. Light weight front and rear bumpers and a stripped interior with lightweigh carpet installed. BBS Magnesium race wheels and Hoosier tires. No cats, no mufflers, stock headers, heat exchangers. Stock glass.
2650 is great but the next 100lbs will be major work and expense.

That's awesome number Priceton!

My DRY weight is 2715 and I've removed quite bunch of stuff which makes your number really impressive!

Heres my updated list:
All weights are approximate #s from my home scale. They should be fairly accurate since they add up to nearly what I've lost. The numbers I don't know about are the difference in the fiberglass flares and the parts of the stock metal they cut out. Also didn't get a chance to weigh the new K28R versus the old Supercups (I'm positive that I lost some weight with the K28s tho).

Seats 71
Trunk Carpet 5
Sound Padding 50
Stock 3-way Belts 2
Rear Speakers 4
Front Speakers 4
Rear Seats 10
Rear Belts 4

Amp, Changer, Board 22
Heater Blower 10
Motorized Wing 8
Misc. Bolts 1

Bumperettes 2
Engine Tray 10
RS-Door Panels 12
Carbon Hood 20
WW Fluid Bottle/Pumps 12

3rd Brake Light 4
DM Flywheel 24

Still have my sunroof, cruise control motor, airbag system computers rear deck and other little things I can lose. I've considered lexan rear quarters and flush rear window. The AC has gotta stay since TX summers are too much for me to handle without it.
Rollbar should be in within the next week so I'll have 40-50 pounds catch up work in order to make up for it .

My new goal is 2500 with a full tank.

Gotta be careful with those!

Congrats on the diet! Right now my goal is just to get *my* widebody reduced in weight. The car can come later...
