Stuart, you missed it we met last night....

John (W) moved the previous thread to the "General" forum.
I expect we'll do it again towards the end of July. Look out for the date on the other forum.

Stuart,

sorry you missed it.

I moved the thread so that others (not just 993 owners) could hopefully find it and come along too.

Keep an eye on the rennlist calender. I posted it in there, saying where to look for the thread.
We haven't agreed on another meet yet, but as Mark says, End of July seems like a good time.
Lets drink beer while the sun shines, eh !

I bet if you said you were going to be at pub xyz at such&such a time on a given day, a few would be up for a meet & drive.
It's all informal, so anyone can suggest a time and place to meet

Mark, I just remembered I was meant to be finding out about the Willie Green track day. Sidcup Steve is on hols for two weeks at the moment, but I just checked his mail to me, and it is at Donnington on 16th July.
He is also wanting to do Bedford Aerodrome on 29th July (Eric may well be doing this one too).

I'd like to do Donny (no osmonds lokes please ! ) but doubt I'll do both. The french one is on 10th July, and is at a place called Croix-en-Ternois.
My missus is going to the French one, and having a drive too !

Catch y'all later.

Cheers,
John.
P.S. got this idea about some new suspension now. Every time we meet up I come away wanting to buy something else !!

Hi Guys - if you're wanting to do Bedford at the end of July, have a think about the PCGB day on 3 August - I'm booked for that - its £220 for members.

Stuart,

I can't make a meet next week.
I'm away this weekend in France, so will be playing catch-up at work for having Monday off.

Where did you get your M030 from, and how much ??
Pleased with it ?
I saw Ajits on Tuesday and it just made mine look like it is on stilts.
( Maybe I could join E.J.'s school bus club - do they have Blue school buses ?? )

Cheers,
John.

John,

As we were talking about Donington, they run 2 types of track day the "Premier" days franchised to Willie Green at £300 a day, and the "Trackzone" days run by the circuit themselves at £150 a day. http://www.donington-park.co.uk/home.htm
I guess the differance will be the quantity (and quality) of cars booked onto the differant days.

I may well try to get along on the 16th to spectate. Any chance of a ride?

I am going to book myself onto the PCGB day on at Bedford on the 3rd just to show Ajit the way round even if his car is low and sexy!

Stuart, I can't make next Tuesday either, how about Wednesday?
Like John I am hatching a plan to get my car more intimate with the tarmac

Guys - I did Castle Coombe today - had a fab day. The car was brilliant. Hearing that engine at full throttle (with the help of the holes in the airbox) was brilliant. Also rode with a few other guys - all in all a great day. Tyres very feathered - slid around a wee bit and enjoyed all the sessions.

I've now also booked onto Silverstone on July 12 - anyone who wants to come or spectate would be great - i spectated last yr and had a good day.

Mark - you were right M8 - its a very very slippery slope this trackday business.......even with a low and sexy car )

Sounds great Ajit,

Seems like it's only a matter of time before I get sucked into the track culture as well...

Just purchased my HID setup today. I was completely smitten by John's setup. Made my car look like it had candles behind the lenses.

See you soon.

Hi Guys,

back from France and all in one piece.

I've decided not to do Donny, as it is beginning to look like I'm on a 4 day week !!
A days money plus the track day fee will also go a long way towards that suspension.

Also saw a nice Ducati 996 at the weekend that a friend is selling.
I...... must..... resist......
Damn, my hobbies are expensive

Mark, if Steve is still going I'm sure he will offer you a ride in his 968.

Ajit, if you go to Silverstone via the M40, watch out for the speed cameras in the road works between the M40 and Silverstone village.
I went to a wedding up there a few weeks back, and now have a letter sitting at home from the Northants police

Also, anyone know if there are any cameras on the M20 on the way to the Channel tunnel ?
There are several sets of distance lines on the road, but I couldn't see any cameras. I unfortunately went through the first set southbound a bit hot on Friday, and I'm wondering if I might have another letter on the way.

I can't make another meet up for a week or two - fully booked all this and next week.
How about 22nd/23rd or 29th/30th ??
If someone wants to pick a date, slap it in the calendar, and post to the off-topic discussion area, that would be great.

Cheers all,
John.

Thanks John - and for the silverstone tip - i'm booked for the track day there so i'll be sure to keep my speeding to the track itself!!

I've posted to the General BB for 30 July - hope loads of us can make it. Don't know where the calendar is though so if someone could post it on there please.

Thanks

Ajit.

John,

How imminently are you looking to purchase your suspension upgrade?
If your timescales are similar to mine (I'm a bit flexible) we could try and arrange a group buy?
I've been quoted £1,200 inc vat by Eurocar Parts (the Bilstein importer) for the PSS-9 kit (no mounts/roll bars etc).
Perhaps we could beat them down a bit more if we get a few of us together? Anyone else game???

Hope to see you all on the 30th.

Mark

Mark,

I'm in no real hurry to buy.
In fact, I've spent the last three days looking at & dreaming about a Ducati

That is a good price for the PSS9s, but I wonder how much all the other parts will cost.
Why not have a word with Gert - see what figures he can magic up for us both with & without the extra bits. Also enqwuire how much if you were to go pick the kits up (I doubtit will affect the price much though).

Don't forget to budget for fitting and allignment.
I'll probably fit my own, and just get a pro alignment done afterwards. If I can find the time, we could probably do yours too.

To be honest, I'd be happy with M030 setup, as I doubt I will play with the setting too much.
H&Rs are a bit cheaper than the PSS9s too, and may be a bit more compliant for road use.

Mail me direct if you need to sort something out quicker than just waiting for me to look in here.
I'm pretty busy at work, so only stop by here every other day at the mo.

Cheers,
John.
