By the way, I’m pretty sure we’ve chatted at PGHCNC (Generoasta). PM sent

Some people complain about the price. I think it’s good to support these creators. People like Mr. Etter are a huge part of what makes owning these cars so great.

Thanks notabot. Forgive my ignorance. I still don’t understand what it does. The photo on the web site wasn’t enough for me to “get it”.

Needmoregarage, my car above (red engine compartment) has it installed. Look along the top line of the inner engine compartment and it hides the pad edge. I like it as it cleans up a sagging or dirty engine pad. It seems pricey but I like it and it made a big difference in the overall clean look of the engine compartment. RRC

I installed one last year. Nice product, goes in easy. Here's a before and after:

Before

After

Getting that last peg twisted in right above the blower motor was such a pain! Looks like they moved the peg a little to the left in the VR models like yours. Lucky!

I do remember one being a pain, but was pleasantly surprised to discover that the old insulation didn't have to be removed - Padkeeper just slips right over it.

FWIW my gorilla hands were able to replace the old insulation pad prior to placement of the pad keeper. Just something about having a crusty old *** insulation pad in my bay put my OCD in overdrive....

best,
Paul

I've got an unrelated question - the silver Mobil 1 decal on the blower duct has a part number on it (I think). Can anyone tell me what that part number is..?

Thanks!

The superfluous connector is for the vacuum actuator valve for the heated air supply selector. 964 and 1995-1 993 does not have this, and as far as I know is the spare part engine harness the same for the early and later 993 engines.
This actuator selects air supply from a snorkel at the engine bay lid when reversing in order to avoid exhaust fumes being drawn into the cabin.
The 964/1995-1 model Climate Control Units do not have output provisions for this actuator.
Cheers,
Tore
