Thumbs up FREE OFFER!!! Do you want seat mouting bolts for mounting...

a race seat directly to the car, without the use of sliders.

This is a long story that I will try to shorten. I am 6'3" and as such, need all the headroom I can get when I don a helmet at the track. I have Sparco Evo 2s (love em) bolted directly to the floor on custom-made brackets without the use of sliders. Anyone who has done this knows what a PITA it is to get the bolts started in the holes with everything lined up first. I don't know how anyone can do it with the stock allen bolts and still fit in a wrench to tighten them down.

I was lucky and found some at Lowe's with the same thread and a regular bolt (1/2") head. Works great (still tight to get the rear ones in) but I just learned that I have lame *** Grade 2 bolts. I finally got the production version of my roll bar installed today and the guys at the metal shop told me where I can find the Grade 8 bolts that will also fit. So here's the offer:

If anyone ever has or ever thinks they will add a set of racing seats and need to bolt them directly to the floor, I will order you bolts and send them to you. I don't think they will be too much money, but when I call tomorrow, I might decide I need to ask you to send a check. If they are cheap enough, no money required. I will mail them regular USPS in a padded envelope.

Just email me or respond here.

I also have a set of Brey Krause Inner lap belt mounts that enable you to snap in a harness and use it with your factory seats. I don't need them anymore and I will be happy to send them to the first responder to this message, either by email or here in the thread. Please only ask for them if you are really going to use them, not let them sit on a shelf for a few years while you decided if you really want to add that harness bar.

Here is a pic:

and here is the link to the page that explains exactly what it is. It has a $65 dollar retail value.

This is my service to my friends on the list. Just trying to give a little back.

Kim,

Don't think they will work as there would be no way to turn the bolt head in the slider 'trough' where the bolt has to sit. I am afraid they will only work with the direct mounting method.

If no one else wants the seat belt mount, you can have it. Also, don't think I have forgotten about the trailer hitch. John and I are trying to look at the future to see if one of us wants to part with one of ours, rather than going through the trouble of making a new one. Do you still have time?

E.J.,

Check your E-mail.

BTW, your generosity, and that of others here, is just overwhelming! This board really has some class acts, and you are certainly one of them.
Thanks!

I understand the Brey Krause adapter can no longer be used in PCA driving events.

Actually I believe that 2002 is the first year to allow use of the BK part. At least for PCA San Diego region.

Rick,
I'm not positive as I originally interpreted later=older -- Per the 2002 rules I pulled off the PCASDR website, it indicates "Attachments must be to the car itself and not to the seat frames. The Brey-Krause adapter may be used with the stock seats in 1986 and later cars." (Paragraph XIII A.3.) http://vista.pca.org/zone8/rules/driving2002.htm

So I think later means newer, right?

My apologies...it looks like the BK adapter will work for PCA events.

E.J.,
I did the same thing you did and put grade 2 bolts in for the direct mount. Our Lowes didn't have them; I had to go to a fastener shop. I could use 6 for my drivers seat if you can find the grade 8.
I just drilled and installed my harness bolts last night, and will finish getting in the rollbar tonight. I'm going to road atlanta this weekend---it's funny how its always a rush to get this stuff done right before the race (sound familiar E.J.?) Thanks so much for the offer.

I don't have your mailing address David. I have the bolts and can mail today if you send it to me.
