^That's where mine is as well. To the OP, all of my stickers are in place. I even left the PCA window sticker the original owner must have put on it, Kentucky Region.
Zed, if you are showing in a local/regional concours most of the judges don't look for originality just dirt and shinny. It's a factor of not knowing what was original along with limited pool of judges. Back in the 70's things were very crazy, originality was a big factor, the would make you pull a hubcap to check dates of the wheels, and worry about date codes on the coil. Unless you are showing at a Porsche Parade a crumpled original sticker will most likely be a slight deduction. Concours is where you pay money to have people tell you how bad your car is, done that, not anymore.
All of these nuances just in the in engine bay stickers: Shell vs Mobil, wording, locations and even colors, should be documented somehow. In 10-15 years when someone is doing a full restoration and needs documented information, it will only be hearsay. In the 70's when the Stoddard's Catalogs became the bible for all parts and details much of the small details were lost or changed due to what Stoddard was selling at the time. Details get lost, what's correct can be tweaked to fit what is on the car, and you can see how many changes there were in the 10 or 12 stickers in the engine compartment. Dr Brett Johnson published a series of books on the details of the 356, early 911/912, and they have been reprinted 4 times with many updates each time. The 993 Essential Companion has lots of photo details, but not enough, and again the European cars varied between different delivery locations. It would be great to have some like Brett to start documenting all of the 993 changes while the cars are plentiful and original.
So, I might be the only one on the forum that actually purchased and reinstalled the Drive Block stickers on my car in an effort to get it be as (visually) close to the day it rolled out of the factory ...
