What's the height of the engine...
... when it stand on the floor on its headers?
Or what should be the minimum height for the rear chassis beam to get the engine reasonable in?
Background is that my engine is for rebuilding right now and we decided that we don't want to go back to the shop for installation.
Thanks in advance

easy to leave the varioram off until the engine is under the car.
raise it a bit, connect the clutch slave, then deal with the throttle cable.
if on jack stands keep in mind the rear gets higher as the nose gets lower.
so if you need that extra 2 inches in back, drop the front.

Thanks guys
i have it on a QuickJack the free height right now is 78cm under the beam, which should be free of the 30" (76.2cm).
So its a GO, we will manage a solution for the lifting as we also can lower the chassis when the engine is in position

Agree with that!
my fear was that the QJ is simple not high enough to get the engine under it. With that settled, we just have to lift the engine a little over ride height and then we can finish the rest with the lift. Much more confi then having to push the engine in place.
But man... wishing to have the luxury to stand under the engine to fix the bits and pieces

Being able to stand under the car is an incredible luxury and I'm thankful for it.
