Default 993 Sportback seat repair

So the leather on the left side of my driver seat keeps coming out of its securing groove. I have to take a plastic knife and squeeze it back in every couple of weeks. Not a major problem by any stretch but it is a PITA.
My upholstery guy said it’s because after 24 years the leather is shrinking, even if it is in excellent condition. He said nothing can be done. He said whatever you do don’t glue it, because it will stretch the leather.
Anyone else have this problem? Anyone come up with a hack?
I’m grateful for any suggestions.

In addition to those plastic tabs, aren't there some metal clips to keep things in place? Maybe yours are missing? I seem to recall some but there are only a few compared to those plastic tabs????

I’m embarrassed to admit that I just found your 993 blog. Once again you are a fountain of knowledge about my 24 year old car.

You can soften the leather out and stretch it back out with applications of Leatherique.

^^ what chsu74 said.
I used Color Plus Leather "Soffener" .
After a few applications over a couple of weeks the leather regained its original size and pliability. The clips then stayed in the retaining groove.
