the rpm level bounces
k..this is weird..i got my tires changed and now i dunno maybe im becoming too conscious...but when i stop at a traffic light..im literaly staring at the rpm level.. it stays at 800 and then it bounces back to maybe like 700 and goes back to 800..
i got back to my garage and opened up the engine lid and the front hood...didnt see nething odd..the rear fenders were quite hot..OPC told me its normal..
then i went to the front of the car and noticed the fan on the right side next to the tire..whenever the fan starts working the car rpm level bounces...it keeps repeating..is that normal or am i still toooo conscious...
Please help

Relax man, you're too 'hyped'! (which is understandable).
Normal Porsche behavior, at least for 993.
Next thing you ask: "what's that burbling sound on right side of the car", or "what's that whining sound after I'v shut down the engine" etc...
Enjoy!
P.S. Check the Search button on top of the page, you'll find lot of answers there.

As Jack said, it's either a/c or oil cooling fan.
if it's on driver's side of the car, it's a/c, if on passenger side, it's a/c.
10 000 kms service, I change oils & filters more frequently (3000 miles), but 10 000 kms is propably just fine (manual says what?)

Singh,
Yes, the baby is fine. Dad, other hand, is currently suffering from post-traumatic-993 ownership syndrome. Not to fear, while highly contagious, it is treatable. Meandering drives, scenic roads, and frequent washing/waxing are often good starts for seeking relief.
I fear, however, that while you may treat the symptoms, the condition is permanant. If not cared for, sadly you will eventually find yourself stealing time to.....drive alone!!! Then comes the insatiable desire to alter various characteristics of your baby. Sure, it starts as "minor" surgery, like clear lenses transplants or carbon fiber infusions, but then...oh I shudder to even mention the condition you have created for yourself! And whatever you do, avoid at ALL COSTS..... any semblance of a race track. It is here where others who have clearly lost all semblace of sanity have slipped off the edge. These poor, depraved souls grin in hideous delight as they explore the darkest regions of their sickened state at lurid speeds, fed by lateral G's, and congregating --often even revelling-- in their debauchery of speed. Yes, it is a sordid affair, but rest in the comfort that we're all here for you. We'll take care CARE of you. We'll watch over you...TRUST us.....he he he....

On the other hand, the current draw of the oil cooler fan (right hand side) might cause some idle fluctuations as it turns on and off. Your car must have been pretty hot.

In Dubai Rolls is literally a taxi. At least one hotel uses them as complimentary transportation. Great country!
