Hood Insulation Adhesive?
Okay, I've got that dreaded hanging insulation problem on the top portion of the hood area and I see from several pics of other people's cars that it is a common problem.
Mike Cap suggested using Pliobond to reglue the insulation, which sounds like a great idea as I've used this product before and is very strong stuff!
Just thought I'd see if any other suggestions, as to what to use, might be available from other members here.
Thanks all

Pliobond and glue brushes to apply. Then wedge cardboard cut up pieces in to hold the insulation up against the body. Two years now for me and still as good as new.
Ciao from cold and snowy Upstate NY.

Mike,
Look at picture #4 of my car. Right above the Varioram manifold there is an insulation blanket that is below the rear window and extends all along the upper side and back (forward side) of the engine compartment. You can just make it out in my picture. The adhesive that Porsche used loosens up and the blanket hangs down (damn gravity) onto the engine.

I have heard of some guys removing it for weight and to better hear the engine symphony. Also has to make it hot as hell in the car.

one more from the passenger side, right under the lip on the body side of the engine compartment...
edit- oops... sorry, MC... I was sending as you posted... I'll give the Pliobond a go to reattach this. Thanks for sharing your tip.

Learns me well from thinking hood == front of the car.
I should know better too, as I currently own a front-engined, a mid-engined and a rear-engined car.

The MR2 crowd has taken to calling it "frunk" after someone conveniently misspelled it a couple of year ago. Very descriptive.
My hanging part... is fine. Oh, oh, you meant the insulation? I think it's fine too.

You might as well have been taking a picture of my car, looks exactly like that. Allright already I'll put it on the list.
Kelly,
You and Mike are running neck and neck for most ambitous winter maintence DIY's. Of course winter for you is a calender thing only. Hope you are enjoying the car.

Jamie-
Thanks to you, I can "kick it up a notch" with under car maitenance now that I have those great jackstands!
Off to do a clutch slave bleed right after I post this.
Yes... loving the car as I know you're loving yours.
Just trying to give it the TLC it deserves to bring it back to an enthusiast's level of ownership.
Mahalo, Jamie!

Jamie, that's because we both just got our cars, neither one of us knew much about 911s and the enthusiasm and knuckles still haven't worn off yet
The difference is that Kim is actually doing things to his car and I'm mostly geathring info due to weather.

Mike-
Just noticed that you're in Boston. I was just up there last sept and the weather was just beautiful for the week. Sorry to see weather has been bad for you guys this winter. I shake my head in disbelief when I see the temps being recorded there. Stay safe and warm. Spring will be here soon so you can go out and play w/ the car. Assume you don't have a heated garage to work in, huh?
pic from my back steps a few minutes ago... sorry...
