It's about 5 degrees C here today and an early spring melt is happening. The roads are all wet and covered in a layer of sand and mud. Couldn't wait to get out and test drive my car after doing a wheel alignment in the garage with Smart Strings. I am absolutely FLOORED with the difference in handling after setting up the alignment properly. The car tracks straight as an arrow and is super well behaved over bumps. I used to have a shimmy in the front end at around 100 km/h which now seems to be gone. It also used to have an unsettling "rear steer" feeling over bumps, felt mostly at low speeds and when travelling straight. Seems to be totally gone now. I'm also super happy with how the 17" wheels feel over cracked and bumpy pavement, and I'm glad to not have any of the rubbing I had previously with my 18" wheel fitment.
Before the car felt like a show car to me... good for rolling to the ice cream shop but not much else. Now it's been transformed into an every day weapon. I've been loving the learning process as I go through fixing, tuning and refining various bits of this car!
Yea, they’re from Waldemar. Also did a new OEM shift **** and e brake handle, new Nardi steering wheel and Lloyds floor mats with vinyl piping. I bought colour matched cashmere beige leather dye to dye the piping the exact same colour as the seats/interior.
Camber in the rear looks very aggressive. Have you had that checked?
I set it that way intentionally. It's at about -3 in the front and -3.5 in the back. I know this will wear the tires more quickly but I'm not too concerned - 17" tires are cheap. It doesn't seem to adversely affect handling at all. Correcting the toe settings in the back made a remarkable difference in handling, however!
