I was cleaning off the wax from my “wax job “ last week and the corner of the towel caught the Carrara badge and bent the corner up. The replacement is $70 from Pelican so I thought I would go,without for a,while. What do you think? I don’t see anyone else without the badge on the Internet sights though it is common with BMW and Mercedes. Also, any ideas on what to use to glue my badge back on (silicone)?
I don't run a carrera badge, I think it makes the back end look much cleaner. To me it also makes the rear look wider because it isn't broken up by something but I could just be crazy.
I was riding shotgun as a teenager in my friend's father's BMW 525I at relatively low speed when on impact the BMW hood coin debadged and flipped into the air, don't recall if it landed heads or tails. His dad was not too happy about what happened when he was out of town.

I had good luck with the product shown in post #8 here. Thin, super sticky and holding up well.
A replacement badge will have adhesive pre applied I believe. Just pull off the paper and stick. Make sure to get the placement exactly where the original was placed or you will see ghost marks in some light.

Your local auto parts store will sell 3M adhesive tape. You will stick it to your badge and trim it to the lettering. Once you do that you can place back onto your lid and it should be good. I have purchased a clear thin tape which is extremely sticky and should work great.
Or just go with no badge as I think it looks good clean. RC
I plan to de-badge. The original owner replaced the black Carrera with the silver version on a black car. I will buy an OE black Carrera and put it in the glovebox.
