If I could change one thing about my 993 it would be...

lexpilot,
Although I am a confirmed fan of the left-hand ignition switch, all you need to do to have a 911 with the switch on the right is to buy one with right-hand drive. That's one issue solved, then .

imho, the single weakest aspect of our cars is the headlight design. However, that's cheap enough to rectify.
Of the 'big' features, the only thing lacking in this car is the power level. Considering that this seems to be a very common point of view, it astonishes me that Porsche continue to bring out fresh models with such modest power increases - 20hp in the case of the 997. The rest of the car pack is biting at our heels. Even Volvo has a 295hp car now (S80)...
Speed might not be the only important element of a great sports car but it is surely the most cherished aspect.

Am I the only one who keeps getting combustible window switches?

Seems to me our NA 993s are still very fast cars; 0-60 in as little as 4.7 seconds (Car & Driver '95, many mags got 5.0) and 168 - 171 mph top speeds. This is excellent performance! Sure, more and more cars come close or match the straight-line speed, but very few surpass it. The rapidly increasing number of 300-400 hp newer cars are heavier, most by a LOT, so they're no quicker, or just slightly so.

A fan speed switch that is visible from the drivers seat. I hate having to make a right hand turn just to see what it is set at.
How about brakes that don't require a cumulative effort of thousands of owner's reports to find pads that don't squeal, don't make a ton of dust, and still work in cold, wet weather.
Now, I don't mean to be picky and unrealistic here, but 15000 miles out of rear tires??? C'mon!
Why did they put the intermittent wiper control way the he!! up there above the gauges? It couldn't have been integrated into the stalk?
All 993's would come with a 900 page book on how to diagnose and understand the CCU. (Not that I want to take the fun of this away from Randall G.)
An oil filter that doesn't require removing a wheel well liner and a FRIGGIN ROCKER PANEL to change. Seriously people... was that necessary or was it just making up for doing away with valve adjustments. You just couldn't make life simple, could you?
#4-6 intake spark plugs. Do you think anyone who built this car EVER changed those with the engine still in the car?
A worldwide understanding that just because I drive a Porsche, I don't feel the need to constantly prove myself to every punk a$$ fool in his mom's hopped up *insert-name-of-favorite-moron's-car-here*.
But of course, even those things somehow become more of things we love about our cars than hate about them.

You guys need to get serious here. Here are two things that I've always wanted on my 993:
1) Special jacks so I can leap over obstacles and evil left lane bandits.
2) Extendable wings so I can have a chance of winning the Big Alpine Race against the dreaded Car Acrobatic team.

Hmmm...
1.) I'd like neon lights under the car.
2.) A horn, that sounds like a christmas song.
3.) 24" Wheels
4.) A larger "EVO" - ricer wing
5.) A 2.0 inline four
6.) G-measure feature a la Skyline
7.) DVD in the backseat
8.) Trunk access from the inside
9.) Exhaust pipe that I can put my head in
Huh,... oh sorry, thought this was the Dodge Neon forums...
Seriously, I'm happy with my C4, most features I'd like to add I can find on the RS or the TT models. So I had my choice, and it ended up on the C4.

Ohhhh yeah, now THAT's a good one!!!...and the oil filter-in-the-wheelwell business. Makes me wonder, "what in the world were were they thinking???"
