Porsche didn't document this particular TSB, but any half way decent factory Porsche tech will confirm this. Just like the harness problems. Probably because Porsche doesn't want to pick up the expenses to replace every single 993 slave cylinders out there. I did get the replacement for free from the Porsche district rep., but had to pay labor to replace it.

I have the information in the workshop manual, in case you don't know it is outdated. It was an earlier attempt from Porsche to resolve the issue. But the root of the problem is in the clutch slave cylinder. (But there were few individuals also have the pedal kinetic issue too.) But everyone eventually will need to replace the slave cylinder in their 993, I assure you that.

Now, Pete may call me a know it all but it has always been my understanding that it is common knowledge amongst the PCNA network that many 993 slave cylinders had to be replaced when failed. In fact, they replaced mine when I had the problem. However, I do not know about the clutch pedal assembly problem. This is the first I heard of it.

Hey Viken:

I remember seeing a DIY on Robin's site about a hanging clutch problem that originated from the clutch assembly. When he worked on it, he found a decent amount of buildup and cleaned it thoroughly.

Possibly the same solution, in a different format? I am still working up the nerve to get my 260 lb. frame under my steering wheel to clean mine up.
