Post Bad A/C and Heater Dash Control Unit ?

My oil cooler fan will not operate in fast or slow mode, even when the temp on the gague is above the 9:00 position. Using the threads info provided on this site I jumpered terminal 5 and 87a and 87, the fan ran slow and fast. The ohm meter indicated (can't remember terminal #s) showed 0.8 ohms so I assume the resisstor is good.I switched relays with the A/C fan which was operable and the fan still did not run at above the 9:00 position. I disconected the temp sensor and now the fan runs fast all the time and oil is cool( never 194). But I would still like the system to work as its supposed to. I am thinking the dash control box is junk. Any thoughts/confirmations.

Don't buy a CCU yet, silvercar. You still haven't replaced the oil cooler temperature sensor. This inexpensive and easy to install part is what tells the CCU to start the fan. If it's bad, the CCU will never start the fan (unless you unplug the sensor ).
