Curtis - '97 Targa

Here is a picture of the broken side. The piece in question is the white piece that the door check strap pins to. It comes out of the pillar and is apparently welded to post before the post is installed. As the door opens or closes the white piece moves laterally about 1/4 inch and makes a popping noise. On the passenger door, and unbroken driver's doors, this piece doesn't move at all.

I had the same problem last year and my dealer, Don Rosen in Conshohocken, PA (Philadelphia area) took care of the problem with no questions asked. I assumed that Porsche paid for it but maybe not.
