Default Clear Turn Signals for sale?

Noticed I had a crack in my right front amber turn signal. I'd like to replace it with some clear lenses. Anyone have some for sale or know of a place with some for sale at a decent price that will work with the bumperettes?

I've seen confusing threads about different signals available. Could someone explain the differences of what will work with what? I don't want to have to do any filling or bodywork done while installing these.

thanks

Default You can find them on eBay.

You do have to trim them since they are made to Euro spec. There's a DIY somewhere.

Euro clear lenses are longer to cover the area where the US bumperette mounts over the foglight/turn signal opening. The US clears are simply Euro clears that have been cut to size & sealed w/silicon. I.e., Euro lens + Dremel + clear silicon + some skill = what you need.

I just went to the AJ USA website and ordered them there! The old ones just pop right out when you get the right angle - just pull then out with some gusto, then put the new ones in. Why deal with paintwork and bodywork with the longer ones? I like my cute little bumperettes!

Here's how it looks now:

Euro Front turn signals Short: AJR 631 061 06 2SH $135.90 total plus shipping of $9.95

It looks alot better than this! Amber is so... 90's )

Good luck,
Steve

Dan- if I just tried to mount the euro lens w/o the bumperette, would the lens be long enough to cover the space left by it's removal? From what I remeber, there would be a gap, correct?

Steve- is that price per pair? I looked on their site and couldn't find them.

Hey Kelly,

I just did what Steve did and on the black cars they look great. It is an easy r and r. You can seen them on the pics I sent. I really like the look of the clear lenses.

Cheers

Yes. You are correct. You'll need some body work to fill in the bumper notches visible in this pic of a US TT bumper.

"Ah, I see" said the blind man. I never knew there were notches where those bumperettes are. Seems like it would have been so easy to have those things without notching the bumpers. Thanks for the picture... that cleared up a LOT of confusion on the euro lenses.

I guess my options are to us the AJ lenses, but the only ones I see on their site for these cars are over $200. What am I missing? Steve? Bruce? could you point/lead me to where those lenses are on their site?

If you are handy with the dremel, silicon and skill as Dan has mentioned, you can get the euro (long) lenses from Gert @ Carnewal for $125 plus shipping.

Kelly, I made the deal almost pay for itself. First I wanted the amber Euro tail lenses. Found a very clean used pair on eBay for $140 shipped. I figured I saved about $150 off the Vertex price. Then I eBay'ed my US spec. red lenses for $80. So I figured I was now $230 ahead of the game. Then I went to AJ USA and paid their ridiculous price for the clear front lenses. But at least they are pre-cut and slide right in. I haven't gotten around to eBay'ing my US spec amber front lenses, but figure I'll make my money back when I do.

Sorry - I just went to the AJ USA site and I don't see the clear turn signal lights I bought from them anywhere on their site, nor do I see alot of 993 stuff they used to carry. I'd just call them.

Good luck. The stock # of the clear signals that I bought are posted above. Hope that helps.

Steve

If you choose the longer ones to eliminate the bumperettes, be prepared to pay at least $350 additional, for the fiberglass work on the bumper to cover the holes that the bumperette used to cover.

Default Installation

Assuming you can purchase U.S. spec lenses, how difficult is it to install the clear front and rear amber lenses?
