993 JUST DELIVERED!
The carrier just delivered my 95-993 Polar silver w/midnight blue. I'm grinning like a cheshire cat. The car was better than I expected, not a mark inside or out, not even the tray under the hand brake. I am elated with my new purchase, took it for a 30 mile run before the weather set in, what a difference between this and my 86 911. All the creature comforts but still an exhillerating ride. Thx to all on the list for helping me with PPI info. I keep walking out to the garage to take a peak and make sure it's still ther. AWESOME!!

Welcome to the P-car world! I know the feeling having picked up my first P-car not 6 months ago. I went through my Vette phase and then an M3 phase, but couldn't be happier with my 993. Now that I have had it for a while, I have even been buying some things on my "upgrade" list
Enjoy your car, and post often!

Congrats... the cool thing is that your enthusiasm will not diminish very much... still love the car tons(after 3 years). The only problem is I spend too much time on these boards and obsessing about upgrades.

Congrats on the new car! My 993 is my first p-car, so I'm curious: what are the first things you noticed being different between the '95 and the '86? (I know some of the differences in specifications, but more curious from an owner's perspective...)

Congratulations. Now, here's my suggested drill for the first night or so to get yourself ready for sleep. Leave the computer. Tell anyone you live with you'll be in the garage & not to disturb you because you need some bonding time.
Take a supply of your favorite beverage & a lawn chair to the garage.
Enjoy the evening

Thx all for your feedback, Chris, the main difference is I guess the car feels more defined, what I mean by this is that the actual driveability is IMO far superior, the power steering makes a huge difference, also the updated cabin controls are a far cry from it's predessesor (spelling?), also the ride is so much smoother, even with 18" wheels. But I think my favorite feature is the wide rear end, it looks amazing. PS. Heading out to the garage with my lawn chair.
Thanks again to you all!!

I wholeheartedly agree! It was my wife who pushed me to buy my Targa when I found it!

CONGRATULATIONS...I too remember the feeling of that first day! I also have a wife that loves the car...she is the one that put me on an airplane to Phoenix to check it out.I purchased it and drove 1800 miles home to Seattle in 21/2 days...what an introduction to a 993
