Wink Give me the strap - yes, I need it.

I have the oem floor mats w/the straps that hook under the seats & snap into a connector on the mat. Don't ask how, but one disappeared. I have searched in vain for a matching connector.

Does anyone have a floor mat strap they don't need? Please email me if you do: ibinmo@aol.com

Dan, sorry, can't help you on these, but I have mats with straps on the bottom and couldn't figure out what they connect to. Do they just go through the hole in a seat rail and connect back into themselves?

Mike
Are the straps removable w/a snap connector at the mat end?
If so, that's what I have. The other end from the mat should have a "D" ring that hooks to an "S" hook that clips to most anything solid under the seat so it's secure. I'm missing a strap. You're missing the hooks. Together we have one complete set. So, "heads or tails?" Your call - I'll let you know if you won.

Dan, I'll look at it tomorrow and will let you know. If they are removable, I'll let you flip the coin, NFL-style :-)
Actually, if my passenger side has the strap you need, you're welcome to have it, as that thing is wedged in there pretty well. The driver's side, however, is sliding around something fearce.

Hey Dan,

When I bought my car, it was missing the driver's side mat strap. I wound up calling the carpet maker (Lloyd?), asking if I could buy one. Instead, they sent me one for free. Might be worth a shot....

Funny thing is, before getting the proper strap, I wound up destroying the matching clip on the driver's mat by using an ill fitting, hardware store purchased strap and connector. So, I eventually got the right strap, but it wouldn't stay hooked, as the mat's snap was ruined. I've since made a much nicer hardware store purchased strap, with proper quick connects for removing the mat (had to cut the "factory" connector off the mat). So, there's a good chance I have the strap somewhere in my garage. I'll go rummage about.

Man, am I the master pack rat, or what?

I think this is what you're looking for? If you can't get Lloyd's to send ya' one free, let me know, and I'll send it off to you.

This what your looking for? If so shoot me an e-mail with your address and I'll send one/two out. I have a few of em so if anyone else needs one lemme know.

Edit- Hmmm my connectors on the carpet end seem to be different than Randalls. Were there different versions?

Good point, Princeton. Mine is for a 964, a 993 may be different? Of course, what you've shown wouldn't fit my "male" mats. I think you have a "male" connector on the strap, my strap is "female."

Here's a diagram from my floor mat brochure, showing the strap in my pic above:

Randall, I appreciate your kindness, but my straps have the male snap ends exactly like Princeton's. So, Princeton, you've got mail & thanks for your help in ending my months long search. Let me know if you did not get my email & I'll try a PM.

BTW, Randall, good suggestion about Lloyd's. I didn't even think to try calling them

It looks like I'll need one too, just have to figure out which.
Shall telephone Lloyd on Monday (boy, that sounded very British-like, no?)

scs32 - Which version? If its the type I have I'll see if I can scrounge up the other 1 or 2 I should have lying around somewhere.

So it looks like I am missing the Randall version. However, I am planning on calling Strauss on monday to order new mats (a year+ of going strapless has wreaked havoc). Does anyone know:

a) Which version their matts use
b) Whether or not they include straps?

Cheers,
Steve

p.s. I can't tell whether or not to be glad I found this forum. On one hand, it's helping me fix little issues. On the other hand, I've found a new way to spend money.
