There were/are some relatively new EU regulations regulating the outgassing of resins used in CF for vehicle interiors. Newer resins are obviously available but this might have something to do with why the 993 parts have been delayed? There was little blurb in last months Composites World magazine talking about exporting CF from the USA to EU countries and some of the difficulties in doing so legally.

If there is that much demand for these inserts, I can have a look at adding this part(s) to my list of ongoing composite 993 bits... Wouldn't be that difficult to tool up for, and eventually produce.
One thing one would have to take into consideration, is the potential splintering in the event of a large, side impact. Your forearm would be right there.
The other is this part would have to be clear-coated. 1) to make it purdy, 2) to prevent UV rays from turning it green.
As far as outgassing concerns go, these parts could be post-cured to help 'seal' them. Clear coating would help as well...
I would be interested in reading that article in Composite World trade magazine. We get it at work, just will have to hunt for it.

That is the best looking door panel in a 993 that I've ever seen

I'd take a Turbo S if it had a piece of damp cardboard for a door panel !!!

by the way, thanks to this forum i have solved the carbon fiber door insert problem.
a fellow rennlister has offered to sell me a pair as a rennlister favor ( boy am i glad i joined) thank you E.C.
l also learned that 97-98 ones could be made to work if needed.
and if i had to, could make some (glad i didnt have to take this option)
so to all you carbon fiber junkies, thank you
