Default Fister Stage III

Car is going in for oil change today and mechanic is putting on the Fister III while it's up on the lift. Can't wait to hear it. Been disappointed in the Motorsound noise since day one.

Will report back!

Looking forward to your impressions. Maybe post a video, too?

Interested in hearing your impressions. I'm wondering stage two or three....... On a different note, what does (should) an oil change cost on a 993? I'm due to get my first since I've owned the car.

First impressions of FIII:
  • Way more aggressive than Motorsound
  • Not esp. crazy for those used to aftermarket exhausts like AWE on a 997, Ferrari exhaust, etc.
  • Provides a lot more sound at start up and acceleration
  • Less than expected under WOT
  • Changes character of car from subdued to sporty in a noticeable way
Overall: Not for the faint of heart. It's fairly noticeable all the time and it has more impact at low speeds and cruising than some will likely want. It's much more of a character changer than PSE in a 997 or 991. I think it's great but I like aggressive exhausts.

I've lived with mine for about a 1000 miles and I really like it. Lots of character and zero drone. That's the big plus. It's loud but not much louder than my old GT4 (from what I recall). Start up sounds awesome.

It is a big difference from Motorsound, if only because Motorsound is terrible with zero exhaust noise.

Is there a performance gain, or strictly a sound gain?

There is performance gain.
After you return from a spirited drive or from the track, your performance will be improved- both torque and hp.

Yes, I do my BMW and my F150 but It was easy to get the change done while it was in for the alternator replacement.

...and don't forget that $55.85US is pretty close to $300CDN these days...
