Lots of spins in the wet and the dry and a ton of "code brown" moments...

Brings new meaning to "rubbing's racing". Amazing how relaxed they were about contact back then...

Rubbing is racing! Those supercup drivers weren't messing around back then.

20 years later... 991 Supercups in Monaco. Crazy how fast these guys are driving the circuit now

Rubbing is racing

-When it's "not my car"
-When it's affordable (in the scale of these races, the cost of these cars was considerably less due to not be collector status)
-When the sensitive stuff tends to be at the rear instead of the hitting/crashy bits up front when driving super aggressively.

My fastest lap times have always been in other people's cars, LOL.

Varied level of skill in the Cups. However, to say it’s not and still I isn’t entertaining would be a lie. I’m impressed though with how durable they are when hitting the wall. Speed might have a slight factor, but they’re still awfully fast. Tire technologies back then as well.

Some will disagree, but a lot of the good tributes nowadays are far better and faster than these. Pedigree no. Faster and more thought out and the tried and true, yes.

added: going through the list of entries, it’s impressive the variance. Up in comers, veterans, moto’s, formula.....these cars aren’t easy to drive. Up until the 997 generation when real aero and computer cushy’s were added, it was mechanical finesse. Not over driving a tire or upsetting a corner on exit, lots and lots to deal with. Nowadays, I think the oldies would have a field day with those that started in the modern stuff.

Default How to Use & Abuse your 993 SuperCup

All the cool colors and liveries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A few of the shunts @ Monaco were hard to watch $$$$$$

Even in the dry, it looks like these cars were on knifes-edge.

7 minutes well-spent IMO

That looks like an absolute blast and definitely reminds you how much skill is actually needed to drive the 993 hard. Great share!
