Sad news...
Bob Akin was in a serious crash at Road Atlanta during the Walter Mitty Challenge this past week. He was a fixture with Porsche and IMSA in the 80's. He was in critical condition and succumbed to critical injuries.

Like all Porsche and racing fans I was very sorry to hear of Bob Akin's crash. I was fortunate enough to have him as an instructor at a number of Porsche track events I ran a number of years ago. He was obviously a great driver, but I can tell you firsthand he was a terrific person. A great loss for the Porsche family. Mike W
