Post How do I know if my potential...

96 C4S purchase is part of the harness recall? Sorry didn't try the search function couldn't wait to get answer. The car passed PPI...but like people here say. It never hurts to ask.

Your local Porsche dealer will probably have to physically look at the harness... it seems they can't figure it out from the VIN. But don't let it worry you... if it needs the recall, get it done. If it doesn't, then don't. Either way, it shouldn't enter into your decision making process. Get the car you love... take care of the recall later.

Keith,

Steve is correct. My 96 C4S was a part of the recall and the dealer notified the previous owner of my car.

Our old 993 was driven happily for eight years before the recall, so nothing to be particularly worried about.

My 96 wasn't affected. Just had it at the dealer. It had an ODBII relay recall, but that's it.
