The secret propulsion method cut .003 seconds off my lap tap. However, the .5 ounce of matches, added .004 seconds. I chose to run without the added "boost".

Mike, Mike, Mike...
It's not all about the lap times - it's racing, remember? You may be .001 slower, but all the guys on your bumper trying to pass you start spinning off into the weeds!

Brilliant strategy.
Plus I get to enjoy the mayhem just ahead as drivers desperately try to stay in front of me.
BTW, did you employ this method in last fall's 24 hour enduro? That must have been physically gruelling.

Second - okay, funny story:
We had four drivers: me & two buddies, plus our ringer - John Strickler, past two-time national SRF champ. Our rotation had me going out after John. Our SRF had the standard generic fiberglass seat, with a spiffy leather seatcover.
I'd driven a couple of hours that afternoon through the rain, and was pleasantly surprised to find that I only got wet across the shoulders & upper chest, open car notwithstanding (must be because I'm so freakin' fast, right?) John does his first double-stint (~1.15 hours per tankful) at night, through the rain, and comes into the pits for a driver change & refuel. I jump into the car, and he helps me get buckled in, then disappears over the pit wall. I'm sitting in the car under the dazzling halogen pit lights, minding my own business waiting for the refueling to finish, thinking about hurtling out onto the DARK, rainy, mud-covered track with weak headlights. All of a sudden John rushes back up to the car, and shoves a white towel way down into my crotch. Woo-hoo! Is this a tipping situation? I'm waved out of the pits, and head off down the pit lane pondering this. I finally decide he wanted me to have the towel in case I ran out of tear-offs or something.
I survive the first few laps of total chaos & anarchy out on the track, and start to have time to notice other things. Like... was it raining really, really hard earlier? 'Cause I don't remember the rain getting all the way down onto the seat the last time I was driving. Yup, it's definitely damp down there - my butt's feeling a little clammy.... OHHHHH, *that*'s what the towel is for!
Next year, our team is going to have a new sponsor for the 25 hour:
Depends.

Hey, I hope you guys don't mind if I drop by between the cat fights, camp outs and farts to thank mac993 again for his help. (Sorry for the interruption.)

Good story. I can't remember, do you have a dark driving suit that doesn't show the wet stains.
Dan
How dare you interrupt us after we have hijacked your thread! Tsk. Tsk. The manners of some people...
