Default Porsche Crests for Keys

Does anyone know what color key crests were original to the keys for model year 1995?

Were your keys original to the car?

My 95 also came with a silver/pewter crest. Because the light in each key was some dim, I changed the heads to the colored crests.

That's funny, my 95 came with the gold crests and I changed them out for the pewter crests.

Interesting. My '95 is original and I purchased the car new.. I noticed that the Porsche Crests were missing from the key heads.
I contacted Pelican to order key crests for my keys. I was offered either the complete key head with the crests depicted in post #2 or the crests only in pewter/silver. I asked Pelican which color key crests are original to the model year '95. Pelican didn't know, so I decided to reach out to see if any members have their original keys complete with the crests.

94453804100 nothing to reprogram if you don't have an immobilizer.

The colour crest came in about 2000, all previous keys/fobs had the silver/pewter crest. They are actually a different size so a silver crest wont fit in a coloured head very well and a coloured crest wont fit in a pewter head

I know that Pelican sells the complete head with the colored crest and only sells the silver/pewter crests as a stand alone item. Although Pelican is unable to answer which color crest is original to model year 1995, your explanation may answer why. The information provided in this thread seems to point that the siler/pewter crests are original to the car??

Twilight, let me know what you figure out. I have been holding off on either doing heads or just the crest. Leaning toward heads, but if pewter is original I will do that as I think it looks better.

Do the new replacement key heads still use bulbs or are they now LED illuminated?
Here is a conversion DIY for those who have an interest:
