Problem #1
The shifter in my car has developed a buzz like rattle, this appers at normal driving speed and in all gears. I can stop it by holding the shifter but that make 10-2 difficult.
Problem #2
Door check went again, it was fixed by dealer for no charge 1 year ago, 4,200km.
is there a permanent fix.
Thanks

Tighten the allen nut connecting the shifter to the stalk. Worked for me in the past.

Levino,
When you release the leather shifter boot from the center console and pull it up, there should be an allen bolt. (diy instructions available at p-car.com, thanks to robin)
Even if the allen bolt is tightened down, you may still experience rattling at higher rpms, I had to stick some filler paper tissue in the shifter shaft to fill up the extra room. It's a hokey fix, but it's working so far.

Nels,
thanks a bunch.
I took it apart as per the DYI and used sticky back looped Velcro to take up the extra slack on the shaft and it appears to be working.
