I have recently discovered a relatively low cost formula to start racing in, 944 spec. It seems to be growing rapidly and is, quite interesting.
I know the 944 isn't anything like the 911 (993) but many say they are well balanced by nature. The 944 spec seems to be a lot of fun and a great bunch of guys involved with the same mantra: lets race each others abilities, not our checkbooks.
Now I am faced with a large decision to make, continue to DE, autocross (eventually time trial) the 993, or build and race a 944 spec car for a fraction of the cost?
Whats your take on this?

From my own experience, I know the 944 (especially the turbos) are excellent. I've heard, though, that maintenance can be on the high side. Whatever you decide, have fun racing.

Part of the formula that I like is that only N/A cars with virtually no mods are allowed. They mandate a spec damper and tires. Even stock rims are a must. Springs and roll bars are open for tuning.
I dont know what to do at this point, its a big decision. I would love to keep the 993, but garage space is a premium. The down side to me would be where to keep a car trailer since we dont have the room to store it.
Then again, I dont know what I would do without the 993. Its such a fabulous, well manored car. Plus all the 993 guys on this BBS are such a great bunch of people. To be fair, the guys and gals of the other forums are great as well, I just dont know them as well.
Time will tell.

Hi Chris
An enclosed trailer does dual purpose as a garage. Sounds like you just need to solve the problem of where to keep the trailer.
I choose to ignore my wife's comments of "Gee, now it looks like the Clampett's live here."
Know anyone who owns a company, factory, warehouse,
etc? In exchange for a few DEs, maybe he'll let you keep the trailer out back?
