Kim,
This may or may not help.... two weeks ago my parking brake light and fault light came on for no reason. Of course I immediatly freaked out and pulled over. Long story short, the light would not activate with the brake pulled, the brake was not sticking, and the light would come off and on at random while driving. Came home and pulled the CD holder and tray off the console. Turns out the sensor that rests on a stop just behind the brake handle had come loose and fallen down, causing the random warning light. A little epoxy glue and pulled the brake lever to hold the contact point against the sensor to ensure the light would work as well as to hold the sensor in place while drying. BTW, I think I did this to myself..replaced the original shifter and e-brake handle with one from Gert a few months ago and probably knocked it loose during installation. Hope your issue is this simple.
