Is there anyway to find the month when a 993 was build.

Look on the sticker on the drivers side door. It will list the month/year. My 96 is dated 12/95

On US cars, there's a serial no. and build date on the sticker that goes on the driver side door sill.

Man,

You REALLY want that higher "rated" HP mill don't you...

An 11/95 build date should certainly have the engine you so desire. By that month Porsche was calling them "1996 models" which all had the "285 HP" version of the 3.6.

Better watch out though, as a 270-HP version may sneak up on you & pull away from your 285-HP version. I do that all the time <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

BTW... Cant this dealer that has the car you mention (in both post's) tell you if its a VarioRam model or not???

That dealer has the upper hand on all of us forum members, as they do actually have the car in front of them.

Your answer may be just a phone call away...

The dealer hasn´t got a clue about what a varioram is!!!!

He deals Maseratis not Porches, this one belonged to a guy who swaped it into a 3200Gt Cambiocorsa!!!

Fool guy don´t you think????

ask the dealer to take a picture of the motor and send it to you. post the pic here and we'll all chime in as to whether it's fitted with varioram.
