Spare tire - any good?
#16
Used it twice and was glad that I had it. I used fix-o-flat once without success and the dealer did not like it because it messed up his new tire mounting machine when removing the tire. I will never use this again and have a plug kit instead now in my tool set.

Had a flat yesterday on the rear of my C4S and went to put on the spare and the rim is too small in diameter to fit over the brakes. Wondering if there are multiple sizes of spares, or somehow I have the wrong spare? Spare has been sitting up front for the past 4 years since I purchased. I even tried removing the front tire and the spare wouldn't fit up there either.
These are stock "big red" brakes, car is fairly original except lowered to ROW height.
Wondering if anyone knows if there is a part number I can check or if I am missing something on how to get it over the brakes?

- It works but due to its age, I drive very slowly on it the few times I have used it.
- Do buy an upgrade inflation pump from Harbor Freight that fits inside the wheel center.
- Store a Schrader valve removal tool with the tire makes it much easier to deflate it fully after use.
- Do keep it in the car as it also functions as part of the crash protection feature of the car body.
- The jack that comes with the car likes solid level ground below it, something a road shoulder many times is not. Consider an inexpensive aftermarket scissors style jack as an alternative stowed in the frunk.

If anyone knows if this is the correct part or if there are different sizes I would appreciate any help figuring this out. The spare isn't great but better then being stuck with a blown tire.

The PET, parts catalog shows 965 362 030 00 as being the part number.
If no one rights back, PM me tomorrow to remind me to look at mine.

Thanks for the help, I'll let you know if no one else responds. I have been searching for the 911 362 040 00 and it appears that is a model for an older 911, but not certain yet. Not sure how the wrong spare ended up in the frunk but hopefully I can sell it and purchase a correct replacement for similar prices.

I know this is a little off topic, but I just checked the part # on my spare, which is 965 362 130 00 & it is different than the PET # (which only shows one) - 965 362 030 00.
I googled the numbers & came up with many different fitments.
My car is a 97 Targa with 17" wheels.
Does anyone know which is correct or are there multiple ones that work?
