I searched high and low for a white/black combo. Since I bought mine, I've only seen a couple. Contrast that with all the silver, black and blue cars here in CA.
I always get a kick out of reading UK magazines like 911 & Porsche World, which always report that white cars sell at a significant discount. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I went looking for a white car. I like the contrast of the red calipers against the white car..it is all personal preference. Also note, the white paint is pretty easy to touch up.

Hmmm...
Check out this thread...

This explains much.
I think the chicks have bought up all the white 993's and have left to start their own forum...
Cheers,
Chris

Yeah, I also think white looks great on a 993...then again, green with purple spots would probably still look good.
Yap, white so long as its clean...

OT - Why are some posts wayyy to big to read without scrolling right, then left then right, then left the whole way down the post with my cursor...
Other posts seem to fit easily into my screen size, no problem??? I've been wondering about this for a longggg time! It's a real pain to scroll back and forth to read the posts. Explanations? Is there a way to change my settings? Do other people have to cursor left then right etc the whole way through a post too? I don't get it.
On the white topic, I think white CAN look good on a 911, but on a Boxster it looks really plain jane, vanilla, boring! I've seen a 97 C2S all waxed up and dressed to go out on the town that looked pretty hot in person. To me, it's generally just not that desireable a color and makes the car look bigger than it really is. Maybe in the warmer climes it is more popular. Lots of white cars in Florida when I visit down there. Isn't every other car in Fla and Tx white? I know the Jag XK8 looks pretty nappy in white - the worst color for THAT car. They always sell at a bargain price in white/beige top.
I live in the Northeast and you just don't see many 993's around here in that color, though women do seem to be driving the few white 993's I've spotted.
Not that there's anything wrong with that, or white in general!

Steve, if someone posted a picture wider than will fit in the allocated space on your screen, it will scroll off to the right.
I would suggest a voluntary maximum picture width of 640 pixels to avoid this on most systems. Larger picures can be uploaded and linked to.

Thanks Pete for the info, but how do I change the settings to 640 pixels? I'm computer illiterate to an extent! Where specifically do I go in my computer to change what?
I'd love to read posts in the future without having to scroll right and left every few seconds! Even your post was too big to read on my screen without scrolling, and you didn't even have a pic!
Confounded,

Stever: try bumping up your monitor's resolution size.... if possible. It may seem weird at first, but you may get to like it!! I'm at 1600x1200, so can view large pictures without scrolling. ( 16 inch laptop screen ) max to change screen resolution, with windowsXP: start>control panel>appearence and themes> change screen resolution> slide tab to right of scale.

Thanks Max, BUT, I do have Win XP and I went to Control Panel, but there is no "appearances and themes" in the control panel to continue on with your fix?!?
This is why I sometimes hate my computer!
Even your posting is off my screen, but whenever I post something it's centered correctly...
I'm lost, as usual,
Steve

you may have your computer set in classic mode. Try this then: Start>control panel> Display> click on "Settings" tab> move slider to the right to increase resolution. hope this works: or someone else better with computers can help out here!! Max

Steve,
To change your resolution in XP (or any Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000 client), try this:
1. Right click on your desktop
2. Select properties from the menu
3. Go to the Settings tab
4. Select the desired screen resolution.
Hope that helps!

PS I have a white car, but it's a 964. I must say, white ages really well, and when I have her washed & waxed, she looks like a Vision in White! White also hides the dirt between washings. I had a dark blue car, and it looked dirty about an hour after I washed it.
I like white, but there are a few colors that really intrigue me for 993's: Arena Red, Polar Silver, Adventurine Green.
