Impressive. Mine is under a blanket and in the garage kept at 55 degrees until salt is off the roads here in Iowa. That being said I drove my cayman s daily for 2 years back in 2007-2009 and it never let me down, and still looks like a new car today.
Nice. I once started up my 993 in -15F weather. Same as yours, cranked reeeeally slowly, but fired. It is painful to see that much salt on a WB 993.
It is too cold to wash right now. When it warms up in a few days I'll go to a place and get it sprayed off.
It doesn't bother me anymore. I just drive it, fix it, maintain it. It's a special car but I it's only special to me if I use it all the time. 140k miles and counting.
Next fall I will get it rebuilt and the trans regeared. I'll sort out any body work then.

I hear you. I grew up in a very very cold northern state where the roads are salted six months out of the year (my cold start test happened when I was visiting home a few winters ago). Every one of my cars in high school and college was a rustbucket because of the salt, I have a bit of mild automotive PTSD from my road salt experiences...
Yes, My experience is Cleveland years past with my 86' and 96" Carreras, started right up. Shifting was a little stiff for a while though and it took a long time for the engine to get up into proper running temperature.

Road salt, hmmmm... "On a quiet winter day in Cleveland, one can hear their car rust"
I remember Rich "Richardew" drove his 1996 C4 Cab year round. He bought it new and had over 350,000 miles on it when he died in a traffic accident in his Boxster. Loved his post!

I remember his posts. I did not realize he died. I was just thinking about the posts about his ultra high mileage 993. I have that as a goal--over 300k.
RIP Rich.
