Post 993 C2 manual conversion problems

Hi all,

new to this space and hopefully I can get some help here.

So recently I have decided to enter in the market for a 993 manual however here in Hong Kong there isn't many for sale let alone to choose from. I have came across a manually converted 993 C2 that I might go look at soon. My first choice would obviously be a manual not a converted one but as mentioned before its hard to come across. I have search the web and the forum regarding manually converted 993s to find if there are any mechanical problems from owners that have converted before. Most of the information I've found is mainly regarding re sell value. But the most important thing to me is that it would cause more problems in the long run mechanically. Also when I go view the car/pre-purchase what should I look out for or ask regarding the manual conversion.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have no experience with a manual conversion but I would think that if all necessary OEM or quality aftermarket parts were installed to convert it to a manual you wouldn't have any problems besides what an original 6 Speed C2 would have.

There is lots of ancillary electrical and shift linkage stuff that is different. I would even consider a grey market import before a conversion.

Hi, no major issues in the last few years. Guess you know the cost for the conversion has been going up here in Hong Kong.

I'd ask for the receipt for the transmission work - then you know who did what and how

agree if done right there's no worries
