Default License plate 'frames' - what's your preference?

Full disclosure up front, I prefer no frame at all to a tacky one or one that doesn't 'fit'.

And as for cool dealer frames, I think they need to look good, but more importantly, have some meaningful tie to either the car or the owner - or at least the vintage of car.

ie. a Vasek Polak Hermosa Beach frame on a 993, ANDIAL on a poorly running stock engine, Brumos on a Euro car, etc. just wouldn't work (for me).

So... what do you guys have installed? Any great license plate frames out there?

Would love to see them, and hear your story about what they mean to you. I'd kick this off, but currently running rear plates plain with no frames. Front plate and frame on the 3.2 retained from original Porsche Bremen delivery...

Cheers

Matt

Suncoast Porsche plate frame because I got it free and it looks good. I'm pretty simple that way

Interesting you mention this. There is a guy selling a "restored Vasek Polak" license plate frame in the classifieds. Wants 1500 bucks for it. Hahahaha...

Default License Plate Frames

Mine is Brumos, which I regard as cool. You can get them on their website.

I did the no frame thing for a long time. Then I found a thin black metal frame at AutoZone for $5 IIRC and was surprised how good it looks. So now I have that frame on all of my cars. Except for this one, it is a 3.8 after all...

I have a thin black frame from PCA that is nice and clean looking. I have been looking for a vintage Champion Porsche frame since that is where my car was first sold.

For me, the fewer words and slogans on my car, the better. I opt for a smoke-tinted plate cover to de-emphasize the license plate.

I'm a bit tempted to get on of the "There is no substitute" frames that some of the Pcar dealers still sell. Haven't decided on black or polished metal.

I had a metal frame made. Black with white text.

Above the plate it reads: "Air-Cooled"
Below the plate: "There is no Substitute"

I don't think these were ever available for sale. A dear friend gave it to me as a gift for this particular car.

I'm in the no frame camp as well.
