ok just looked up the address..

Cold Spring Tavern
5995 Stagecoach Road
Santa Barbara, CA 93105
805-967-0066

oh and if you dont know what the cold spring tavern is, its the old stage coach stop from the 1880's, snuggled up in the hills outside of santa barbara, back in the woods, away from the rest of the world. amazing little place to get away to for a few hours. beautiful backdrop. one building has been turned nto a place for fine dining, the other building is a bar. sundays they usually have live music playing outside on the front porch. tom ball and kenny sulivan play there frequently and are amazing accoustic blues men.
bikers, vintage and current sports car afficianatos freqeunt the place durring their sprited runs through the hills.

take care guys, and have a great drive!

Harry, thanks for the info on the Cold Spring Tavern. Sorry, but I don't have any tips on cleaning the wood on the wheel. I never did anything special with it that I recall. The wood looked pretty good on mine, but as I recall the black finish on the spokes was wearing off where the spoke meet the wood. I've seen some beautiful refinished wheels at some of the So Cal events were merchants display their wares.

Details!!!!!

Meeting at 7am at the corner of PCH and Sunset (Von's parking lot) in Malibu. Planning to leave no later than 730a.

Planned route by Fred (fbfisher) as follows:

Hwy 150 through Santa Paula, through Ojai and then on out to the coast to SB. Getting from Malibu to Santa Paula via several fun canyons to the 23 through Westlake, on to Moorpark and Fillmore, then down the 126 to Santa Paula across the 150 through Ojai and out to the coast and up to SB. Total trip (TOUR) time I estimate at 2.5 hours. "...a three hour tour..."

We will meet up with the Valley contingent in Moorpark (?). I am hoping Fred can give you an approximate ETA of when we will be passing through.

In Santa Barbara, we will make a pit stop at Phil's dealership so that Phil can at least make a sale. We will then go on to take the trek up 154 to Cold Springs Tavern (it's about a 12 min drive) and have lunch and listen to some good music!

I may actually bring the family on this one! Look forward to seeing everyone.

I would like to join and I have a suggestion. Many are in the valley/east Ventura area. How about having a second grouping/regrouping point about 8 AM. I would suggest the 23 N exit New Los Angeles Ave. There is a new shopping plaza on the left side of the road with an "In n Out" burger. Plenty of parking. This is also the exit off the 23 to start the back roads part of the ride up to Santa Paula/Fillmore.

Thoughts???

Dave,

I believe this is where the secondary meeting will take place.

In Moorpark, at the intersection of New LA Ave (118) and Moorpark Road (23?)... at the "Grinder" coffee shop parking lot. We can meet oldguy in Fillmore.

It does sound like the same place you described. Look forward to meeting you.

Harry, You sound like a local! Hows the 912 been treating you?

Hope you guys wouldnt mind a 71T making the drive. I think I can talk the wife into letting me take a break from this remodel I am almost finished with. Cold Springs Tavern is a local fav but the restuarant is not open on Sundays. Instead they have a guy BBQ some of the best Tri Tip sandwich's you have ever tasted(and Tom & Kenny, great blues duo). If you are looking for more of a sit down lunch, Santa Barbara has some great places that Phil could ( or myself ) direct the crew to.

Heres to meeting you guys on the 22nd

You see, the issue with this is that In n' Out doesn't open till 10:00 am!
I'll see you guys on the 22nd.
